The Soul Mirror Oracle focuses on the practice of self-reflection as a progressive and life-long learning journey. Through the lens of mirroring we can become conscious of ourselves and our behaviours from an outside perspective. Every external encounter will reflect something within. By becoming aware of anything that throws us off our centre, we illuminate what areas need attention within ourselves. When we heal ourselves, we heal others, we are all one. The cards also shine a light to reflect on how we react to circumstances and situations, a message for healing may not stem from a situation itself, but rather our reaction to a situation. The Soul Mirror Oracle can be used as a bridge to connect to the wisdom that we hold deep within our soul.

The author, Sunshine Connolly, born in the Philippines to a psychic mother, a descendant of the village witch doctor, now resides in Melbourne, Australia. She draws on her heritage to foster deep connection and channelling of other dimensions. She has also created the Soul Mirror Journal, the Soul Reflections Tarot, and has an upcoming creation – the Oracle of Symbols.

The Soul Mirror Oracle has 42 cards, which are quite large at 140mm x80mm, matt laminated, good card stock and very beautiful. The artwork by Ana Novaes is gorgeous, I love the striking minimal colour palette which is mostly black with touches of gold and ochre colours, and has a strong balance of high contrast light and dark elements. The deck is visually sublime and beautifully finished with a gold dusted edge on the cards.

Each card has a title and two keywords, presenting an overarching theme and two perspectives – which are the mirror of each other, for example Potential: Confined / Infinite. One perspective comes from a place of fear and the other from love, reflecting the mirror aspect – two sides of the coin or two polarities we are offered to connect and investigate within the concept of the card.

Any pain that may arise from the mirror, will be the key to beginning the healing process, offering a way to untie the knots within our own psyche. The process of reflecting on why we feel triggered offers the pathway to resolution and soul evolution.

The 120 paged, colour guidebook is an extensive resource for the concept of the oracle, and to work with the cards for optimum healing and transformative experiences. Each card meaning includes a reflection to use as a prompt that could be used to journal and deepen your self enquiry.

Use this oracle as a tool for self discovery and to facilitate healing, or use it with the companion Tarot deck, the Soul Reflections Tarot, to combine the wisdom of the Tarot with this oracle as a mirror to the soul.
