Morbid Mirror Oracle draws back the veil between earthly life and the eternal hereafter, inviting us to reflect on our fleeting (and gorgeous) existence. Soni Graves created this unique deck with equal parts wisdom and whimsy to guide us through a fearless exploration of death rituals, beliefs and experiences. We discover that death has important lessons to teach us about living authentically and embracing the joy and beauty of life. Includes a 77-card oracle deck with iridescent edges and accents. The illustrated 204-page guidebook presents insightful messages for self-reflection and spiritual growth, with several ways to read the cards.
Soni is a mystical Chilean-American artist, currently residing in Nebraska. She dances between the realms of the spooky and spiritual. With a batty black heart, and a soul that finds solace in the mysterious and obscure, she crafts tarot decks that whisper secrets of the universe.

Soni has always been enchanted by the eerie beauty of the unseen and the misunderstood. As an illustrator, author, and tarot creator, she weaves together macabre magick, with a dash of whimsy, bringing to life worlds where shadows swirl, and scary creatures reign supreme.
First of all, the packaging is absolutely stunning. The cards themselves are pretty standard oracle card size (12.7 x 12.7 x 12.7 cm), but they have this ever-so-slight embossing to them. The skulls on the backs and the images on the fronts have a subtle raised feel, which adds a touch of luxury. Add the shine and holographic edging, and you have a genuinely beautiful, obviously well-produced deck. But then, would we expect any less from US Games?

So, down to the cards themselves, because there’s so much to love here.
I’ve been picking a card each day, and every single day I’ve found some form of solace in its meaning. One of my favourite things about this deck is just how many layers there are to explore.
First, the artwork. I mean, look at them. They’re absolutely stunning. I would happily tattoo every single one of these cards on myself. I think they’re just divine.
But the artwork is only the beginning.

Each card has its own meaning, the basic interpretation, for want of a better word, but there’s so much more to discover. At the top of each card is a little glyph, and this is where things get particularly interesting.
That glyph serves two purposes. The first is as a Magic 8 Ball. There’s a dedicated guide at the back of the guidebook, and it’s fantastic. It gives you another layer of insight, but with a little more directness, and you can use it to answer yes-or-no questions.
Then, if you move to another section of the guidebook, that same glyph corresponds to an action to take. So, alongside the card’s meaning and the Magic 8 Ball response, you also have something practical to work with.
And I love that.

You’re not just looking at a beautiful image and reading its meaning. You have different ways of engaging with the card, whether you’re looking for guidance, a more direct answer to a question, or something you can actually put into practice.
The combination of the imagery, the card meaning, the Magic 8 Ball, and the suggested action adds an extra dimension that I haven’t come across in many other oracle decks.
And we’re not finished there, because we also have numerology to explore.
Each card has a number, and that number has its own meaning, too. What I think Soni Graves has done brilliantly is make all these different elements complement one another. They don’t feel like separate additions bolted on for the sake of it. They work together, and they’re fantastic.

Now, when we get into the guidebook and look at the meaning Soni has given each card, we also get advice and questions to consider. Obviously, these relate to the card itself, but I’ve taken those questions and used them to create my own morning Tarot spreads, and honestly, each one has brought me something meaningful.
This is probably my favourite oracle deck so far, and I own about seven, so that’s saying something. I’ve been pulling a card every day, and it’s just a fantastic deck. I absolutely love it.
One of the things I particularly appreciate is how easily you can incorporate it into your usual Tarot practice.

In my experience, Tarot and oracle cards don’t always seem to mirror one another. It’s something I’ve seen other people discussing, too, although of course, that won’t be everyone’s experience.
But with this deck, I’ve found a lovely way of bringing the two together. The questions in the guidebook have become prompts for my Tarot readings, whether or not that was their original intention, and I’ve uncovered some fabulous little insights about myself by using them this way.
It’s become such a lovely part of my morning practice, and I’d absolutely encourage you to give it a go, too.
So, yes. Absolutely top-notch, thoroughly loved, and highly recommended.
