My first impressions of the Akasha Oracle are that it is absolutely stunning. The mix of black and white illustrations with just a pop of restrained colour, and the spot gold on the box cover is incredibly beautiful. I really love the artwork, and I couldn’t wait to dive in deeper into this deck.
Upon opening the box, I am met with a profound, reflective statement amidst another beautiful illustration: ‘Imagine a space filled with knowledge, a field of energy in which flows all that exists and all that will ever exist…’ Gorgeous.
Akasha refers to a memory field that exists in the ether. The author, Emily Nicolle, states she started communicating with Spirit and the subtle planes from a young age, ultimately leading to the Akashic records – the spiritual library of all knowledge, memory and information of all our lives.
Included in the box is a 120-page guidebook and two divining cards for working with the soul’s journey through time. These two cards are intended to be used with a pendulum. and she includes instructions in the guidebook to do so. The divining cards are designed to assist in finding information about past incarnations – gender, timing, culture, location and so on. The Akasha oracle will guide you and provide insights.
The author is a psychic and akashic records reader. She adds reflective associations for each card and an introduction about the Akasha. The word Akasha is Sanskrit meaning ‘sky’ or ‘cosmos’ and indicates this energy field is everywhere in the ether.
The Introduction and How to Use the Deck segments are worth reading to get a deeper understanding of how the author intended this deck to be used – to access information about previous incarnations, and positive and negative skills the soul has acquired.
The deck has 48 beautifully illustrated cards by Carla Cartagena, primarily with a graphite pencil drawing aesthetic, in which a restrained amount of colour takes centre stage, thus highlighting areas of focus when reading with the deck. Each card features a plant that represents the card’s message, interpreted through channelling the ascended masters. The author also encourages you to connect with your own intuition to the symbols in the cards.
The cards are segmented into four categories: potentialities and blocking points – karmic things that have been placed on your life path for growth; variables or challenges; life areas; and inner states to shed light on your essence.
The author has also included several excellent spreads to help unlock guidance from the cards – personal analysis spread, past lives spread, evolution of a situation and more.
The deck absolutely appeals to my aesthetic. The artwork is sublime, subtle yet full of impact. The restrained use of colour adds to the ease of weaving together profound oracular messages between cards, with the intention of empowering the reader to weave their own trajectory, and course correct for a desired outcome.
Adding to the stunning cards, is a gorgeous golden gilded edging and satin card stock which elevates the hand drawn black and white pencil elegantly into a very special artwork in each card. The hard cover box is also in a satin, almost matt finish, making the spot metallic gold really stand out.
This is a very beautiful deck, that could be used as a profound standalone divination system or mixed with other systems to gain insight, guidance and clarity. I am really looking forward to using this stunning deck more.
