Shout Out: Claudia

Here’s another insight into the lovely team of volunteers we have running TABI:

I’m Claudia and I’m TABI’s Secretary! Being the Secretary is really quite a varied role, which at its basic level is taking minutes at meetings and ensuring all the documentation is up-to-date on the forum.  However, I’ve also found that it gives a great opportunity to notice things on the forum that could be updated, improved or started. So far, I’m really enjoying being part of TABI’s panel and feel it has been a way to ‘give back’.

My interest in tarot goes back to my childhood. I remember finding a tarot deck at my aunt’s house, I think it was probably a 1JJ Swiss deck, and being fascinated by the images. I think I somehow knew what they were meant for, even though I wasn’t ever told. Even though I had a Catholic upbringing, not strictly religious but I did attend several Catholic schools, I always had a strong belief in the paranormal, magic and fortune telling. This wasn’t anything that was introduced to me by my family, so it’s interesting how that came about!

I got my first tarot deck when I was about 16, but never really mastered any of the meanings. I read just for fun, solely on intuition, until 2012. In 2013 I was accepted onto the mentorship programme and was endorsed towards the end of the same year. My favourite deck is the Paulina tarot, but I read with quite a few, including Deviant Moon, Crystal Visions and Crow’s Magick.

I live on the South Coast with my husband, 14 year old daughter and 5 year old son. My ‘day job’ is working as part of the Cancer Management Team for a large NHS Trust. I watch an obscene amount of TV and my favourite programmes are Game of Thrones, Da Vinci’s Demons, Sons of Anarchy, and Vikings. Favourite band of all time is Guns n Roses (original line-up) but I do have a love of a bit of 60s/70s Southern rock, particularly Lynyrd Skynyrd. And that’s me!
