Camelia Elias: Presentation Title: Playing Cards the 'Read like the Devil' way In this presentation Camelia focussed on how to differentiate between receiving intuitive messages from the cards and logically putting two and two together. Through concrete examples, Camelia pointed to different tactics of developing penetrating vision by prioritizing the use of visual cues in the cards over relying on pre-determined meanings. Chris Butler: Presentation Title: “Fear of the dark: How not to avoid the cards we fear the most'. This presentation looked at all the intimidating, dark and ‘frightening’ cards, the ways we avoid them and the ways in which they’ve been diluted or erased in modern tarot culture. Chris also put forward how the Tarot world has its own form of ‘cancel culture’ , exemplified by the current trends for ‘positive only decks’. He will show how this is nothing new, using visual examples from vintage decks. The ultimate aim was to show the value of retaining all these dark archetypes in their unvarnished form. There’s healing in the dark cards as they reflect genuine human experience.
